Well, the weekend is getting closer and I don’t know about you but any time I think about what Sunday could bring I turn in to a bit of a nervous wreck, so, mostly, I’m dealing with that by not thinking about it, not the best option really when you have to write a daily blog, but there you go, you do what you gotta do to get through at times like these.
There is, as has come to be the norm post-poor result, very little by way of actual news. In fact, the only thing of note that I could find around the interweb this morning is Mertesacker talking about Podolski and that was on the official site so no doubt you’ve all read it by now. If you haven’t, he said,
He is very confident. When he feels he has to be there for the team and when we needed a goal he was always there. He was always one of the best players on the pitch and nothing could take him down. He is so confident and that is what I like.
“He is a fantastic striker. Everywhere he has played he has scored a lot of goals. He is very good on his first left [ touch] when he has the ball in front of him, that is a big quality and very good for us.
I want to talk about Podolski, I do, but there’s not much he can do about Sunday and until that is out of the way, I’m going to leave such stuff as this for the LadyArse Gossip site.
What is there really left to say about Sunday either? We know where we stand, we know what we have to do – draw to guarantee fourth and win to guarantee third and a much more relaxed summer. Permutations, champions league finals, all the other talk is just a distraction from the real issue – we have to win. Away. At West Brom. In Hodgson’s last match. It’s doable, of that there is no doubt, but it’s also fuckupable as well as we’ve proven time and time again this season.
As there seem to be more rumours than actual news around, I’m off to update the gossip site. Make sure you check it throughout the day for new stories and follow @LadyArseGossip for notification of the latest posts. Be glad when this season is finally over if I’m honest, it has been one hell of a rollercoaster and not always the good kind, more the kind that leaves you throwing up all over yourself. Let’s hope that as we head into the final stretch someone has at least managed to find the handbrake and knows how to use it properly.#ArsenalDaily
