He might not have endured the best time at Arsenal, but since leaving, Gervinho has looked to blame just about everyone for his poor form while in North London. Now in an interview he has said that he hopes Napoli progress against Arsenal which really isn’t called for at all.
Seems like you might be a little bit bitter there Gerv.
Speaking to the German press, Gervinho said
“I was not happy with the playing time that I was granted by the coach, I need to play to improve my game.
“Wenger was not ready to give it to me. Wenger? He would have to help me and show more confidence in me.”
This isn’t the first time that he’s had a go at Wenger and it seems odd that he would complain about the playing time that he got while at Arsenal given that he was a regular first teamer when fit and only a series of dreadful misses [Bradford anyone] saw him eventually dropped from the starting line-up.
He was then reported as saying [by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri]
I had lot of affinity with Wenger but more with Garcia. I wish good luck to Napoli vs Arsenal, hope Italians progress in Champions League.
All around very strange from the Ivorian who was given more than enough opportunities at the club, shown patience by the manager, and allowed to leave at the first hint that he would not make the starting 11.
