It was confirmed at the time that we sold him but Carlos Vela has spoken to Sky Sports about the buy-back clause which was inserted in to the deal which saw him leave Arsenal on a permanent basis to join La Liga side Real Sociedad.

Currently in England to face Manchester United in the Champions League, Carlos Vela told Geoff Shreeves before the game

Yes they [Arsenal] have the option.

“Every summer they can take the buy option.

“But for the moment it is difficult.

“They are good now… I am good now.. I don’t think it is the best moment to go back to Arsenal.”

Vela never really got the chance to play regularly at Arsenal and from his time in Spain it is clear that the natural goalscorer Arsene Wenger spotted when he was a youngster has blossomed in to a great player.

Asked if he could maybe return to Arsenal one day, Vela simply said

Vela scored 18 goals last season for Real Sociedad and also got 14 assists. He still chips them home with class, a skill he demonstrated during the restricted game time he got while at Arsenal.

Knocking his party habits on the head he is said to be a lot more focused now and has even refused to play for Mexico for the last few years in order to focus more on his club football.

Would you take him back? I know I would.

I would take him over Samurai Bendtner any day. He was never given a proper chance and had to sit by while crap like Bendtner, Denilson, etc. got chance after chance.
