Arsene Wenger updated Arsenal fans on the status of the injured players.

The injury news which came out on Thursday was a bit of a mixed bag.

Nachol Monreal has, thankfully, not suffered a broken metatarsal but has sustained ligament damage [twist] in his foot and will likely miss out on Saturday.

Tomas Rosicky underwent surgery to repair his nose which was broken in two places and could play if he wears a protective mask but this is unlikely.

Mikel Arteta is still out with the calf problem he picked up against Spurs and will not be back unil the game against Southampton.

Thomas  Vermaelen, who also picked up an injury against Sp*rs [knee] will also be out until the Southampton game.

Aaron Ramsey, despite reports early on Thursday that he would be back for the Fulham game, will not be available.

Nicklas Bendtner is close to a return and could make the squad for Coventry but is likely to return against Southampton.

Theo Walcott’s surgery was a success but will certainly miss out on the World Cup.

    That’s not a mixed bag. That’s disappointing.

I’m ok with this. I’m sure we can handle Fulham and Coventry without them. And then a surge of returnees who’ve had a breather can only be a good thing.
