According to the Italian site Tuttojuve.com, Juventus’ Guiseppe Marotta will travel to London on Thursday to meet with Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham with a view to selling Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagiarella as silly season gets under way.
Of course, all three clubs are known to be in the market for a forward so it makes for quite a good story.
Marotta is said to want €12m for Vucinic but would accept €10m with Spurs said to be more interested in his signature than the other two. West Ham are said to be interested in taking Quagiarella on loan to the end of the season, an option which does not suit Juventus who want cash so they can invest in other players. Quite where Arsenal fit in to the equation other than as a club being used to drive up the price is not clear.
Marotta is also said to be interested in speaking with Manchester United regarding signing of out-of-favour winger Nani.
The Italian site are quite clear that the Juve president will be meeting with Arsenal, but, as you can see, it’s hard to understand why.
