Arsenal’s BFG has been telling the press about how good it would be to have Julian Draxler at the club.
It looks like it is set to be the transfer saga of the winter window and the German media have somehow managed to lure Per Mertesacker in to the whole thing.
Asked by German media [Spox] about the player, Per said
We have already a small German Academy here and that makes it incredibly fun because here there is also this German discipline and special talent is simply estimated [Google translate fail].
Such players [as Draxler] are welcome here. Julian has already made a big impact at Schalke and the national team at a young age.
I am excited to see what happens. You always hear so much [in the transfer window].
You certainly the only one who is excited Per, as I’ve made the decision to get my hopes up in a crazy fashion knowing all-too-well it will all end in heartbreak.
Draxler is currently injured with a hamstring problem. He will go to any length, it seems, to prove his Arsenal DNA. This injury is not thought to be as bad as first feared. It was initially thought he would be out until March but could be back in February with him able to start running within the next 10-14 days.#ArsenalDaily
