As Arsenal get ready to head to Anfield on Saturday for the first of their crucial run of games, Olivier Giroud has been speaking to Arsenal player.

When Arsenal faced Liverpool earlier in the season, their defence kept Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez at bay. In fact, that was the only time the two of them were kept from scoring when they’ve started a game this season – an impressive feat from the Arsenal defence.

Now, as Arsenal know three points in a must if they want to remain at the top of the table, Olivier Giroud reflects on that game.

He said

“Yes, it [against Liverpool] was one of our best [displays] because we played really well and we didn’t let them play their game.

“After the game some people could have said Liverpool didn’t play their game but it was because of our pressure. We didn’t let them play, we kept them under pressure and closed them down. That’s why we didn’t see a lot of Suarez and Sturridge.

“We kept another clean sheet so that’s what we need on Saturday.”

He also spoke about Arsenal not being title favourites as well despite the fact that they have been on top of the table for the majority of the season.

Giroud added

“Maybe we are not favourites for the title but we have been first still for a long time and it’s the 25th game [coming up].

“We have to show people that we want to answer [our critics] on the pitch and nothing more. That is the most important [thing] for us, is the reality of the pitch. After that, if people don’t think we can finish first it is not my problem, but I know we have a good chance to win the league.”

One things is for sure, in 12 days 12 we will have a much better idea of how Arsenal’s season is likely to pan out in the three remaining competitions.

Edinson Cavani’s agent was in London, supposedly Manure and Chelshite are gonna battle for his signature. We surely should throw ourselves into the ring. A signing like Cavani, not only that but beating out the aforementioned clubs to get his signature would be huge Statement signing for sure! I wonder if Wenger is at work?
