Interesting reading…..seems to indicate that our attacking options come more often from inside the box but outside the goal area and our defending frailties occur most often inside the box in both the goal and penalty areas. The fact that we haven’t scored from a free kick is an eye-opener. With skilled players like Cesc, Arshavin, Denilson, Song,Nasri, Rosicky to name a few, we should be getting better results on set pieces, although crosses are better than I thought. Chelsea’s defensive frugality is one key to their success but other than that and the fact that Arsenal suddenly seem to shit their collective drawers and duck when Drogba gets the ball, we appear to be on par with them. I just finished watching the Tiny Totts beat Aston Villa and they impressed me with their fluid attack and their equally feeble defense. Van Der Tart score both goals and I ruminate about what he could have done for us if AW had acted on RVP’s summer suggestion but c’est la vie!
Tomorrow night we will all know whether we have reached their heights on the field or if we need to keep plugging away like we have done for the past 4 years. Here’s hoping for a great Year end result for the Arsenal!
