Lucky Arsenal, not so lucky Sagna, and new kit confirmed

They say in football, as in life, that you make your own luck but I’m not quite sure that holds true with what Arsenal have experienced over the weekend.  From the despair which surrounded every single Arsenal supporter to the pure and unadulterated relief which came with watching Sp*rs throw away the chance to take third, it was one seriously mental weekend.  Newcastle, who played City, was not so much of a surprise but I guess, if we are looking for lessons that hold true in life then the one we can take from the past two days is that it doesn’t matter how shit we are we can always count on Sp*rs to be shitter.

Yesterday was a fun day.  Football is completely insane, and when you consider that we do this to ourselves voluntarily you sometimes wonder what the hell is wrong with us.

What it all means is that one point from our trip to West Brom on the final day will be enough to secure fourth place while a win will, once again, guarantee third. I know there is the whole ‘Chelsea final of the Champions League’ debacle to consider when it comes to fourth, but listening to the way some people got on yesterday you’d think we just shouldn’t bother grabbing fourth because of that. Of course, we want third but it’s nice to have a little bit of a safety net given how we like to do things. Chelsea winning the Champions League is by  no way a foregone conclusion.

There is, as you’d expect, little by way of official news.

Steve Bould, despite apparently ruling himself out of the job, is being strongly tipped to replace Pat Rice, the new home shirt is officially confirmed (you can see it on the official site here), and Sagna’s leg is still broken. It’s  bank holiday today in the UK (nice of them to give Arsenal fans a day off to recover from the weekend) so no doubt a lot of you are still in bed which is handy as there’s nothing much else going on.

Speaking of his broken leg, Sagna has told L’Equipe that he believes that Bradley Johnson did it on purpose saying

I think he did it on purpose. He stepped on my leg. Play continues, I get back on my feet. And when I tried to control the ball, I felt a crack, just like the first time at Tottenham.

He stepped right where the plate was. I think the plate pressured [the bone]. It’s a neat break, just above the plate.

You can watch the video of the incident here but I don’t know if you will come to the same conclusion, it’s very hard to tell.  There’s no doubt that Johnson does indeed stand on Sagna’s leg, could he have avoided him? Does it seem to be a deliberate movement towards rather than away from his leg? Possibly.

That’s all there really is about at that minute. As usual, LadyArse Gossip will be updated with the latest rumours, speculation and nonsense as it appears throughout the day so make sure you follow @LadyArseGossip or keep checking the site.  That’s your lot from me today, I’ve work to be doing – no day off for me.

Arsenal is lucky yeah but be wary of WBA tricky strikers they will not rush at arsenal goal post, they will constantly prey on loose ball. Our defenders should be very careful in given away ball…..Strikers score goals Defenders were leaking goals in. The last 15minutes of our last march will give us away or make us Strickers should continue to follow up with loose balls in other to score early. They are playing for their pride but Arsenal is playing to get qualification for 3rd place…….Dont U dare loose the focus……Get the job done V.P and Santos Arsenal 4  WBA 2 with a call for Penalty from the other side that is waht I could see for now. Regards to ya All Arsenal.
